LEARN TO JUMP HIGHER
This page will will increase
your basketball skills, vertical leap, and abilites. It tells and explains the types of
positions: Center, forward, and guard, and you must choose which one you
are. It teaches you how to play better offense: dribbling, passing, and
shooting. It also teaches you how to play on defense: guarding and
rebounding.
You won't get better if you dont shoot everyday Positions The are 3
main types of basketball players. Two of them are broken down. So that
really means there are 5 types of basketball players. The first position I
am going to tell you about is a center.
Centers: Usually the
tallest in their team. They should be able to block anyone who comes in
the paint and grab rebounds. A center scores from around the paint or
close to the net.
Guards: There are two types of guards. One guard
is the shooting guard. Shooting guards are usaully the best shooters on
the team and good ball handlers. They must be able to score from the 3
pointer as well as 2 pointers. The other gaurd is called a point guard.
They are the best ball handler on the team, very quick and fast. They
usaully have the ball so they can make plays. A point guard should also be
able to score both 2 pointers and 3 pointers but they don't have to be as
acurate as a shooting guard.
Forwards: There are two types of
forwards. Power forwards are usaully the big and strong players. They
should be able to grab rebounds and be a physical player. They are the
one's who give screens beacause of their size. Power forwards should be
able to shoot from behind the 3 point line. Power forwards do not usaully
shoot from 3 pointers because they are good post players. The other
forward is a small forward. They are usually smaller than a power forward
but larger than a shooting guard. They are almost like a power forward
except that they can't grab as many rebounds and there are smaller.

Offense
Dribbling: To dribble good and the cross up someone is usually hard unless
you practice hard. Dribble atleast half an hour everyday. Don't dribble
above your waist. Keep the ball low when there is pressure. Before making
a move burst so that the defense doesn't get time to react to it. Don't
look at the ball when dribbling. To practice not looking, dribble with
your eyes closed. Learn how to dribble with both of your hands. Practice
dribbling with your weak hand.
Shooting: Shoot only when you have
to. Try to get open shots. Shoot at the peak of your jump. Practice
shooting daily. It doesn't matter if you aren't a 100% shooter because
even the NBA's best are not 100% shooters. Look at the rim when shooting.
Bend your knees slightly and hold the ball with both hands unless you are
shooting a hookshot, dunk, ect. Place your strong hand under the ball and
your weak hand on the side of the ball, and flick your wrist to let the
ball fly. Do the same thing on free throws except try not to jump. Always
do the same thing before shooting a free throw (Ex. dribble three times)
just to make you comfortable, especially in games. Shoot many free throws.
Free throws can get very easy if practiced alot and very costly in games.
There are many NBA games that are decided who wins by just a free throw.
Making lay-ups is real simple. If you are on the right side of the hoop
throw the ball at the top right corner of the box with your right hand. If
you are on the left side then throw the ball at the top left corner of the
box with your left hand. If you can't throw it with one of your weak hands
the atleast try to throw it with both hands but with an angle.
Defense Defense is very important. If you have weak defense then
any openent can easily beat you. When guarding someone look at the ball.
Don't expect a move, always react to it. If someone gets past you, sprint
as fast as you can and catch up to them. They feel more pressured when
someone is behind them because they have to look infront of them as well
as behind them which usaully causes them to make turnovers. To be an good
rebounder try playing a game with 3 players and one hoop. Make sure
someone is shooting ball from any random place on the court. The other two
players should try to get the ball. The players must learn to box out each
other to get the ball. Once the shooter gets hot, switch to another
player.

James Naismith, a teacher at a YMCA in Springfield,
Massachusetts, is credited with inventing basketball in
1891.
The first “hoops” were actually
just peach baskets and the first backboards were made of wire.
The game became an official Olympic event
at the Summer Games in Berlin, Germany in 1936.
Two leagues called the National Basketball League (NBL) and
the Basketball Association of America (BAA) merged after the 1948-49
season to become today's National Basketball Association
(NBA).
The Boston Celtics have won the most
NBA championships (16), including seven straight from 1960 to 1966.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who played 20 seasons
in the NBA, holds the record for most points scored in a career with
38,387.
On March 2, 1962, Philadelphia
center Wilt Chamberlain scored 100 points in one game against New York.
That is the most one player has ever scored in one game.
Current Atlanta Hawks coach Lenny Wilkens
has won more basketball games than any other coach.
The American Basketball Association (ABA) was a 10-team rival
league to the NBA that began play in the 1967-68 season and folded nine
years later after the 1975-76 season. Four current NBA teams – Indiana,
Denver, New York, and San Antonio – originated in the
ABA.
The NBA instituted the three-pointer
before the 1979-80 season, an idea it borrowed from the ABA.
The Chicago Bulls have won all six NBA
Finals in which they've appeared.
Michael Jordan, who
retired in January 1999 but returned to the league in 2001, has scored
more points (5,987) in the playoffs than any other player.
The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is located in
Springfield, Mass.

 SHOW
ME HOW TO GROW TALLER TODAY!
Our body is
a very complex machine. We have many systems which control our
functions. One such system is our "gland system" or Endocrine
System. Human height is determined by three factors and those who
want to grow taller can indeed help themselves to a substantial
degree by focusing on the third factor in the below list.
1) Genetics 2) Health and
Disease 3)Nutrition - Vital factor to grow
taller!
|
The first of these can not be controlled and the second can be
controlled to a certain degree but the third factor is the key to
grow taller. Have you ever wondered why the average male height in
the 1970's was only about 5'6" for a male and now it is about 5'9"?
The answer is our never ending discovery of the wonders of
nutrition. Imagine what we can do for our body when we harness these
so called secret growth stimulants and put them to work! YOU BET WE
CAN GROW TALLER AND BE HEALTHIER, STRONGER, ETC. ETC.! Anyway keep
reading this and you too will see learn the truth about human growth
and if you too can grow taller and dramtically taller! We are an
independent research and development labratory and also a
corporation of America. My name is Paul Barbosa and I am the vice
president of our research laboratory who explores all aspects of
life and nutrition. We have published free reports on many health
and nutrition topics such as "DHEA and aging", "High blood pressure
control with garlic", "Lycopenes and cells", etc., and our growth
publication is our most recent publication available. I urge you to
read this very important report so you will also see that there are
no "miracle growth exercises" or "wonder pills" but there is a way
to realistically grow taller and sometimes several inches depending
on the individual. Our company stands alone in the quest to
manufacture quality reports for your benefit. Take advantage of it!
You can grow taller and faster now and also extend you final growth
blueprint by as much as several inches simply which the proper

NATIONAL "GROW TALLER" HUMAN GROWTH REPORT 2ND
RELEASE
( INCLUDES ACTUAL CLIPPINGS FROM VARIOUS BOOKS AND
SOURCES )
Tall parents usually have tall children, and short parents have
short children. Therefore, the tendency to be tall or short seems to
be largely hereditary. However, tallness appears to be recessive.
This means that short parents may have tall children. When one
parent is tall and the other short, the children may be tall or
short or even midway between. This occurs because the hereditary
pattern is complex, and other factors are often involved. Hormones
produced by glands in the body modify growth. Secretions from the
pancreas, thyroid gland, and pituitary gland particularly affect
growth. These secretions thyroxin, and growth hormone-greatly
influence cell size and cell number. Too little of any of these
hormones can slow growth. In hormone-deficient patients, treatment
with the particular hormone increases growth foods with avrious
nutrients are also a large determining factor for height and human
growth. Certain foods but not others contain materials essential for
growth. To promote proper growth, a person should eat a balanced
diet and supplement their diet with various growth stimulating
essential ingredients. Other factors can affect growth. Exercise may
promote muscle growth and inactivity may slow it. Communicable
diseases or infections interrupt growth. Stress and emotional
disturbances can also interfere with it.
AMINO ACIDS AND NUTRITION TO GROW
TALLER
Protein is an indispensable ingredient in the living organism,
and the amino acid building blocks must be available in the
cytoplasm. Many amino acids are synthesized in the body; others are
not. Those not synthesized are called essential amino acids. In man
these are isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine,
threonine, tryptophan, and valine. These essential amino acids must
be provided in the food that an organism eats. For example: If in
Mexico the people ate corn alone, their diet would be deficient in
tryptophane and lysine and their growth and tissue replacement would
be impaired. Spanish people augment their basic corn diet with
beans, which are richer in lysine but still poor in tryptophan.
Eggs, milk, or meat would balance the diet. A vegetarian diet is
characteristically low in lysine, methionine, and cystine. Animal
products on the other hand provide a more complete array of amino
acids. Thus inland African natives have dietary deficiencies not
found in African coast natives who supplement their vegetable diet
with fish. Children of central and southern Africa and India often
suffer from protein insufficiency that leads to a serious disease
called kwashiorkor. ALFRED NOVAK, Stephens College
AMINO SUPPLEMENTS TO GROW
TALLER
The amino acid group when supplemented in proper amounts and
ratios (not just taken unmonitored) with their vitamin co-factors
and other stimulants will in fact allow one’s body to function at
its fullest potential in all willing aspects such as growth, health,
energy, etc. Amino acid supplements and many other growth
stimulating nutrients are safe and very effective and when taken on
a regular basis can only help one’s overall well being. Amino
supplements when used wisely can actually be referred to “miracles
of nature.” MICHAEL F. ROSENBERG University of Illinois
HUMAN GROWTH
The stature to which each of us grows is predetermined in our
genes, as the racial differences between Pygmies and vatusis
testify. Tall parents tend to produce tall offspring. And, the
children of fat parents may be predisposed to obesity but these
basic builds can be modulated by, and indeed depend on, endocrine
and nutritional factors. The fact that modern human beings are
taller than their ancestors of colonial or medieval times is
attributable in part to better nutrition and medical care, and in
part to “hybrid vigor” whereby people now marry out of their own
cultures, nationalities, and races, thus mixing the gene pool.
Growth hormone promotes growth during childhood and adolescence, but
slackens off when maturity is attained therefore it is vital to
stimulate our growth system to optimum levels before it is too late
to make any type of impact on one's body in reference to one's
vertical growth. Too much growth hormone, as is secreted by
pituitary tumors, induces gigantism, while too little causes
dwarfism. The adolescent growth spurt is correlated with the surge
of sex hormones secreted at the time of puberty. Not surprisingly,
nutritional factors have profound effects on growth, especially in
immature individuals. Supplements such as Growth Booster Plus have also
shown to be great additions to one's daily intake regimine to help
promote growth in men and women. Prenatal malnutrition may interfere
with cell proliferation in the developing brain, resulting in mental
retardation. Underfed children grow more slowly than norma l, but if
refeeding is not delayed too long, they will exhibit catch-up growth
with little or no stunting of adult height. Prenatal growth is also
affected by intrauterine conditions not the least of which is
crowding. Birth weights of twins are typically lower than those of
singletons, and triplets are born smaller than twins. In such cases,
catch-up growth may eventually erase earlier deficits. Human beings
take longer to grow up than any other animal. This is correlated
with our considerable longevity but has probably evolved as an
adaptation to our higher intelligence. It takes many years to
educate children to the cultures into which they were born.
Richard J. Goss
GROWTH FACTORS
AND NUTRITION TO GROW TALLER
Worse still is the amount of nutrition that is lost from our
food through processing before we actually get to eat it. Professor
Francis Potenger conducted a famous experiment into the effects of
food processing. Taking two groups of kittens, he fed one group on
fresh meat, the other on an exclusive diet of canned (processed) cat
food. In time, the kittens in both groups grew to maturity and
produced litters of their own. With each succeeding generation, the
cats fed on fresh food flourished, their fur was glossy and sleek,
their behavior lively and alert. The cats in the canned-food group,
on the other hand, suffered a gradual physical and mental
deterioration, growth was stunted, they became increasingly
psychotic and unsociable, and eventually they were unable to
reproduce. Of course, our diets are much more varied than those used
in this controlled experiment. We eat a diversity of meats, dairy
products, and vegetables. Nevertheless, Potenger’s experiment
suggests that no matter how nutritious or tasty our food seems, we
still may not be receiving everything we need for a healthy,
balanced lifestyle. Many scientists actually recommend a daily
supplement of various growth stimulating ingredients to produce
profound effects on human growth. ( Note: You may learn about Growth
Booster Plus at www.growtall.com )
A REVOLUTION IN HEALTH
So what can amino acids, vitamins, various herbal nutrients,
offer that conventional medicine can’t? Can they be used as an AIDS
vaccine? In brain scans? No, in both cases. Instead, amino acids are
demonstrating our bodies as the supremely harmonious organisms that
they are. We are beginning to see how every illness, each faltering
loss of vitality and well being, is the result of metabolic
imbalances, rather than a single specific cause. These imbalances
can be rectified with nutritional supplementation. In other words,
with extra supplements of the raw materials found in the food we eat
every day of our lives-that is, amino acids, together with certain
vitamins and minerals-we can enhance our health, growth, and
vitality as never before. In "The Amino Revolution" book you’ll see
what this means in practice. By examining the metabolic imbalances
behind a variety of health problems, you’ll find out which aminos
are involved. Then, suggestions for specific combinations of
individual free-form aminos show how to restore balance to the
affected pathway. In this way, you can strengthen your immune system
against infection and disease, restore emotional and mental balance,
overcome the bad habits of a lifetime (such as smoking), and
generally create enormous vitality--enough to meet the immense
demands of the twentieth century. If you are used to thinking of
improving your health by taking single nutritional supplements, such
as vitamin C for a cold, or worse, drugs that only suppress the
cold’s symptoms, this new controlled amino-based approach could
radically alter your attitude and expectations. Used wisely, amino
acid supplements are miracles of nature. They are safe, simple, and
unequaled among natural substances for their health-enhancing
potential. The title of this book is no exaggeration. Thanks to
amino acids, we are poised at the edge of a revolution in health and
now you too can grow taller faster.
GETTING TO
KNOW THE FREE AMINOS
Phenylalanine and the Thyroid
Gland
Another result of this enzyme deficiency is that the work rate
of the thyroid gland can slow down. The thyroid gland is responsible
for the rate of your body’s metabolism. It determines how fast you
grow and whether the food you eat is stored as fat, burned as
energy, or used in the processes of regeneration. It does all this
by secreting a regulatory hormone called thyroxin. The amino acid
component of this hormone is tyrosine but simply taking tyrosine
alone will not make you grow miraculously. You will need many other
nutrients such as vitamin co-factors and releaser agents. (Note: A
product which may be helpful for supplementing growth stimulants can
be found at http://www.alternative-nutrition.com/
(THEN CLICK GROW TALLER BUTTON) Phenylketonuria prevents adequate
tyrosine from reaching the thyroid gland. The results can be
fatigue, obesity, lack of growth, and reduced resistance to disease.
All these can be avoided by supplementing the diet with tyrosine,
together with the mineral cofactor iodine. Weight
Control
Even those who don’t suffer from phenylketonuria can often
benefit from metabolic pathways with free-form supplements of
tyrosine and phenylalanine with the help of their doctors. This will
often stimulate the thyroid gland, increasing the rate of metabolism
and thus helping the body to mobilize fat deposits and use food more
efficiently. These changes help the patient to lose weight. Another
of phenylalanine’s actions is to stimulate the intestines to produce
a hormone. Arginine and Growth Hormone
Arginine is indispensable for optimum growth. It stimulates the
pituitary gland into producing growth hormone. This not only speeds
wound healing, but ensures that fat is burned more efficiently,
while at the same time muscle tissue is being built up. This makes
arginine a central part of any weight-reducing program. Many
athletes, recognizing how arginine can improve their performances
and physiques, include it in their training programs. Some people
have confused arginine with synthetic growth hormones such as
anabolic steroids. There is no connection at all. Arginine works
simply by encouraging your body to manufacture its own growth
hormones which both burn up excess fat and tone existing muscle.
Anabolic steroids, on the other hand, can adversely affect many of
the body’s metabolic pathways.
CONCLUSION:
The previous clippings have been used from various books such
as, “The Amino Revolution” and “The Amino Age.” Various
encyclopedias such as, WORLD BOOK, COLLIER’S, AMERICANA, and
BRITANNICA have also been used as references to prove our research
to be 100% facts and not fraud. One product we recommend is the
perfect balance of ultra formed and bonded aminos and vitamin
co-factors along with many new nutrient stimulants which have been
discovered just in the last year to show promising results in human
growth stature. One such is TT or Tribulus Terrestris. In its pure
extract form it has shown promising results when paired with our
precise ratios of free formed amino acids to accelerate growth in
both men and women. This product named "Growth Booster Plus"
conforms to FDA guidelines is popular worldwide and has been proven
through extensive testing to help maximize and speed up one’s growth
metabolism in a safe and effective way as much as 50% faster than
without. GROWTH BOOSTER
contains the ideal blend of Phenylalanine, (TT), Arginine,
Co-Factors, Releaser Agents, and Valine ratios, which are so
important for optimum growth and has done wonders for so many to
grow taller. These are the same AA's found in various foods that we
seldom receive enough of. Most human beings are substantially low in
these vital nutrients and taking a daily supplement can only help
maximize one’s growth process. Feel free to e-mail us for more free
and vital information on human growth and you may also be interested
in this proven growth stimulant Growth Booster Plus which is also
available at the URL http://www.growtall.com/ We hope
we have greatly inspired you and excited you to a higher level as
well. Our report and research is one that is not to be ignored. We
give you our sincere thanks for your time and interest and look
forward to seeing you again real soon. Remember, "procrastinators
